This piece of music is by A. T. Berbiguier from Nouvelle méthode pour la flûte. It is also one of my Grade 7 Exam pieces. Antoine Tranquille Berbiguier was born in the south east of France and was expected to study law, but taught himself the flute, cello and violin. He left home when he was 23 to study the flute at the Paris Conservatoire. He was a left handed flautist and admired for his technique as a teacher and soloist if not always for his big sound. I chose this piece as I love how it sounds, the tempo, the cadence the drama of it and the technicality of it which was extremely challenging but also fun as I was learning it.
